Nothing puts a smile on my face more than enjoying my client’s success as the result of their marketing plan.

In my years of experience doing marketing with top level organizations like Nokia, Southwest Airlines, the Dallas Cowboys, American Airlines, Century 21, tons of entrepreneurs and a number of nonprofits, I’ve uncovered some tough strategies that are super powerful and can easily be applied to smaller business with minimal time and budget.

I love teaching others, from simplifying complex marketing strategies, to teaching couples to ballroom dance for their wedding!

My Why

I know most entrepreneurs want a bit of an insight into what drives any company they choose to work with.  So I wanted to share my why.

Over the years I’ve learned exactly what I needed to become an entrepreneur and propel my business to the point of success.  And I’ve learned what can help you as well.

I had a huge mind shift a while back.  You see,  I had been working 80+ hours a week for over three years making someone else’s business a success.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s people I still love and I still support their business.

But my health was suffering.  My family was suffering.  And that whole “work/life balance?”  It had no life to balance, only work. No TIME.

 

Until I visited, I didn’t realize they put on a twinkling light show every hour at night…

And then, my husband and I went on vacation in Paris.

My husband loves to travel and knew I needed a break, so he booked a whole week plus both weekends in this beautiful city that had been on my bucket list for years.

Even while there, in one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in the world, I had still been working almost 40 hours a week. 

Working for someone else.

While I was on vacation.

And on our last night in Paris, November 13, 2015, it happened.  

Terrorists attacked.  

We were having dinner at Bistrot Paul Bert, and quickly knew that something had happened.  We walked out of the restaurant to a sight never seen in Paris: completely silent and deserted streets.  And that’s right when I got the text from my friend and coworker that simply asked, “Are you ok?”

I turned to my husband and said “something terrible has happened.”

As we drove the deserted streets back to our hotel, we were passed by all of the emergency responders heading in the direction we had just come from.

When we arrived at our hotel near the airport, the sound of airplanes overhead stopped and the skies were silenced when all air traffic was grounded.

We turned on the TV in our room to learn more. Found out what happened. And realized we had only been a block away.

Do you remember seeing the video on the news of the attacker whose gun jammed? That was at La Belle Equipe. Then he walked off down the street.

We were in the next restaurant he would have come to down that street where he headed. Thank God his gun jammed.  

We had it so much better than so many other souls in Paris that evening.  We only experienced the attack from afar.  We survived.  We didn’t even have a scratch on us, and we didn’t witness anyone else dying.

We know how lucky we are.  How the stars properly aligned.  How we were in the right place at the wrong time.  How if it weren’t for an empty clip or  dirty or overheated automatic weapon, we may have just been one more statistic.

It changed us.  It changed me.
For me, it made me realize if I was going to be working that hard, it needed to be for me and my family, not for someone else.  But what it made me realize even more was the fact that I didn’t want to have to work that hard ever again.

I VALUE MY TIME.

I wanted all of my hard work to directly benefit me and my family, and I wanted to be able to help other entrepreneurs along the way.

Life’s short, and I’m not going to miss it.  I’m going to build something meaningful so that I can achieve dreams for myself and my family.

And I wanted to do it in a way that can help other entrepreneurs build something meaningful so that they can also achieve dreams for themselves and their families.

It took something so tragic to spur me to start my own successful business.

To take control of my time.

To gain my own freedom through entrepreneurship. And to create successful entrepreneurship so that I would have additional income to use to free up even more of that time

That’s when I became committed to helping other entrepreneurs be successful in business by filling the huge gap that I saw too many were experiencing.

The cost of doing GREAT marketing was too expensive.  Getting help from someone who actually knows what they are doing means either being locked into an expensive monthly agency contract at thousands of dollars per month before any work even begins; or hiring full-time highly experienced staff who cost the same.

Trying to learn to do it yourself was too confusing with too much information spread all over the internet and you never knowing which information works and which does not.  It’s like you need a sip of water and you get sprayed with a high-powered fire hose.

Or paying hard-earned money for some guy who was selling you his “system” – only to find out once you’re in it that it doesn’t easily replicate to your business, unless you’re selling the exact same thing and in the exact same way.
