Here are some ideas to help you generate social media and promotion ideas in MARCH:

  • Spring cleaning promotions – you could post or hold an event (online photo contest?) for any business related to homes or cleaning
  • Discounts on green-colored items tied to St. Patrick’s Day
  • Youth art contests – it’s easy to find copyright-free outline images online to use for kids to color
  • Basketball-themed promotions
  • Tax preparation tips – great for CPAs, accountants, and other financial services businesses
  • Prom ideas and tips – especially for clothing, hair, makeup, limo services, florists
  • Publish a spring cleaning theme ebook.  EBooks are really easy to make online – watch for my upcoming training on exactly how I do this using free services.

March holidays:

  • 1 Ash Wednesday – the first day of the Christian season of Lent and a sign of penitence. During Lent, Christians must fast and give up things they like. The Lenten season lasts for 46 days.
  • 8 International Women’s Day – International Women’s Day is sponsored worldwide by the United Nations. However, the UN did not originate this special celebration. The roots of this celebration goes back to the late 1800’s and early 1900s.
  • 9 Purim begins at sundown – Purim is a two day event beginning at sundown on the fourteenth day of Adar.
  • 12 Daylight Savings Begins at 2:00 a.m.
  • 15 Ides of March – the first day of the Roman New Year.It also marks the first day of spring
  • 17 St. Patrick’s Day – in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, who brought christianity to the Emerald Isles, as Ireland is known.
  • 20 International Earth Day – also called Sun-Earth Day. initiated to make earth inhabitants aware of their responsibility to care for the planet.  International Earth Day is different from the US’s Earth Day.
  • 20 Spring (Vernal) Equinox – the day when there is exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of nighttime; this is only true on the Equator.
